A Brainstorm

 Final Project Brainstorm!

I believe that students learn best when... they have true social connections with their classmates to create a safe, authentic, valued learning environment.

  • I believe that students learn best when they have real connections to their classmates and to their learning.
  • I believe that in order for these connections to be real students identity must be fully represented in and by their learning
  • I believe that students learn best when they have conversations.

The Idea!

I want to create a culturally relevant deck of Morning Meeting Activity Cards that center my students, their identities/interests/voices/ideas and starts each day with conversations the build connections in my classroom.

To Do List:

  • Research Morning Meeting activities
  • Adopt them to represent my students
  • Find a platform to design card deck on
  • design 10-20 morning meeting activity cards!

What technologies could play a role in this project?

  • Canva: I have very little experience with Canva; however, I believe it is a platform for designing documents and presentations. I could use this as a platform to create my deck of morning meeting activity cards!

  • Rethink Google Slides: While traditionally used to create presentations, I could use this technology that I am familiar with to, instead, create a deck of morning meeting activity cards. This might take form of one card per slide. The benefits to this would be using something I am familiar with in a new way, also slides is very flexible in formatting and would give me more flexibility than pages or a word doc
